The family of actor Benedict Cumberbatch could have a lawsuit on their hands over their historical links to the slave trade in Barbados.
As reported by The Telegraph, Cumberbatch’s ancestor, Abraham Cumberbatch, reportedly owned land in the 18th century which housed over 250 slaves. The family maintained ownership of slaves until slavery was abolished in 1834.
