Kim Potter’s 2-Year Sentence Sparks White Tears v. Black Pain Debate

A nationwide debate on white tears vs. Black pain is brewing following the two-year sentence handed to Kim Potter for the murder of Daunte Wright in Minneapolis in 2021.

Wright’s family asked Judge Regina Chu for the maximum sentence, but she was apparently swayed by white tears and instead sympathized with Potter. BNC’s Candace Cole and political strategist Quentin Jiles join “DC Today” to discuss the sentence.
