Ex-Officers Thao, King Take Stand for Cross-Examination

The federal trial of the three former officers charged with violating George Floyd’s civil rights took place in Minneapolis

Today, the jury heard testimony from two of the defendants, Tou Thao and J. Alexander King. Thomas Lane is also expected to testify.

All three are accused of depriving Floyd of medical care, with King and Thao also charged with failing to intervene while Derek Chauvin dug his knee into Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes.

Former prosecutors Bernarda Villalona and Titus Nichols join Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss today’s testimony.
