Charles Blow on Lack of Accountability for False Police Reports

Charles Blow talks to Dr. Phillip Atiba Goff, co-founder and CEO for Center for Policing Equality, about Robert Greene’s death at the hands of police and missing accountability for police filing false reports.

Blow, citing Greene, Tamir Rice and George Floyd, says there’s a vast difference between the initial police report and what actually happened.

“If there was no video, this would be the record. These reports go to court,” Blow says. “This is the police’s position on what happened. When that turns out again and again not to be true, it says to the public, ‘I can’t trust you.'”
