Mason, Tennessee Asked to Surrender its Town Status

The town of Mason, Tennessee is facing an unprecedented request by the state’s comptroller to either forfeit their city charter, which means they’ll lose their town’s status and its right to have their own elected officials or face a financial takeover.

Virginia Rivers, Vice Mayor of Mason, and Anita Wadhwani, senior reporter for the Tennessee Lookout, join Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss.

All this and more on “Black News Tonight.”
