Dr. Rod Paige, The 7th U.S. Secretary Of Education Is A Member Of Phi Beta Sigma

Did you know that Dr. Rod Paige is a member of Phi Beta Sigma? Paige pledged the Alpha Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Roderick Paige was born in 1933 and is the former secretary of Education for eight years. Growing up as a young person, he had always dreamed of being either a teacher or a football coach, which led him to become both.

In 1986 he became superintendent for public schools in Wilmer County and went on to serve as a college dean at Tuskegee University’s College of Education before being appointed by George W. Bush as the first African American US Secretary of Education after the 9/11 attacks.
