Opening Statements Begin in Federal Trial for Ahmaud Arbery’s Murderers

Testimonies will soon begin in the federal hate crimes trial of the three white men who chased down and murdered Ahmaud Arbery.

Gregory and Travis McMichael, along with William “Roddy” Bryan, have already been found guilty of murder in a state trial and sentenced to life in prison. The federal trial examines motive and will determine if they killed Arbery because he was Black. Attorney Phillip Hamilton joins “Start Your Day” to discuss what happened in court, including evidence of the McMichaels using the N-word.
