Africana Studies Prof. Talks HBCU Bomb Threats & National Freedom Day

February 1 is National Freedom Day, a U.S. observance that honors President Abraham Lincoln’s signing of a joint House and Senate resolution that would later be ratified as the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery.

Dr. Greg Carr, associate professor of African Studies and chair of the Department of Afro-American Studies, and adjunct law professor at Howard University joins Laverne McGee on “BNC Live” to speak about the historic day.

Carr also discusses the string of bomb threats targets at six HBCUs, including Howard and Bowie State.
