Howard University Students Protest Housing Conditions

Mold and health concerns are just two of the reasons protests continued at Howard University on Thursday, as students staged an old-fashioned sit-in protest.

“The World Tonight” host Nayyera Haq shares that students are demanding the university provide better housing and plan to stay in place until their demands are met. In a statement, Howard’s vice president of student affairs Cynthia Evers said, “The well-being of our students is always one of our top concerns, and we will also support the right to a peaceful protest.”

Protestors say the situation has been “complicated,” and university administration was refusing to take action until the students began publicizing the sit-in.

All this and more on “The World Tonight.”
