Dr. Greg Carr Criticizes Lineup for Super Bowl Halftime Show

The halftime performers for the NFL’s Super Bowl LVI have just been announced.
The lineup for the most-watched musical performance of the year consists of five multi-award-winning artists: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
However, many find this problematic in light of the league’s history of dealing with racial justice and equity. Africana scholar Dr. Greg Carr took to Twitter and said, “If I were the owners I wouldn’t concede an inch to any social justice movements either. Why? Just wait 5 minutes.”
He joins Shannon LaNier on “Black News Tonight” to discuss the controversy surrounding the halftime show.

All this and more on “Black News Tonight.”
