Ellen Pompeo Gets Dragged in Favor of Denzel Washington on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

“Start Your Day” hosts Sharon Reed and Mike Hill discuss Ellen Pompeo’s recent news that she got into a debate with Denzel Washington when he directed an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.”

The hosts also chimed in on actor Isaiah Washington sharing he auditioned to play the show’s beloved McDreamy, but Pompeo said she wasn’t comfortable with a Black love interest. It’s important to note Pompeo is married to a Black man in real life. Hill nodded in agreement as Reed shared how Pompeo is getting dragged on social media by Black and Brown people. “When we hear about a white woman barking and clapping at Denzel . . . that’s a problem,” said Reed.
