Rebel Girls Fest is hosting an event this October in celebration of Black girls and all their glory.
The event will align with International Day of the Girl which is set to kick off on Oct. 10 and will be hosted by actress Lovie Simone.
“Join us for a joy-filled virtual event packed with play-based activities and led by a dynamic lineup of Black women and girls,” the Rebel Girls website states of the event.
The celebration will come just days after the release date of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Real-Life Tales of Black Girl Magic. The book was edited by Blavity’s former editor-in-chief Lilly Workneh.

Other appearances are expected by artists Aint Afraid, choreographer Chloe and Maud Arnold of Syncopated Ladies, author Haile Thomas, fashion designer Kheris Rogers and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
Winfrey is expected to make a special message at the end of the event which aims to inspire Black girls to tap into the inner leader, creator and innovator, according to ET Online.
