R. Kelly Denied Bail; Racketeering Trial Will Begin August 9

R. Kelly is still behind bars after being denied bail by U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday.

He is being accused of running an operation that recruited young women and girls for sex. The 54-year-old denies sexually assaulting any of the girls. Judge Donnelly made it clear to the R&B singer and his legal team that they can meet seven days a week at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where R. Kelly is staying. His racketeering trial will start on August 9 in New York City.

R. Kelly’s attorney, Michael Leonard, joined “BNC Live” host Tashanea Whitlow to discuss his denied bail and upcoming trial.
