Conservatives Painting False Narratives on Racism in American History

America is fighting a pandemic other than COVID-19, and it is racism.

Republicans are trying to play revisionist history in matters of race and oppression to push their version of the American narrative. In the book, “Robert E. Lee and Me: A Southerner’s Reckoning with the Myth of the Lost Cause,” author and former Brigadier General Ty Seidule reveals the truth about the Confederacy, and its main goal during the Civil War to subjugate and maintain the enslavement of Black people.

Seidule joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the book and America’s history of painting false narratives.

All this and more on “Prime.”
