Dr. Cornel West Compares FDR’s New Deal and President Biden’s Infrastructure Bills

President Joe Biden had his $1 trillion infrastructure bill and $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill passed in the Senate.

Biden’s infrastructure and reconciliation bills have been compared to former President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal. The domestic program, propelled by the Great Depression, led to housing discrimination, redlining and the development of housing projects, which directly affected the Black community.

Similarly, Biden has set aside the For the People Act, George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, reparations and other legislations, intended to solve problems in the Black community.

Civil rights activist, author, professor and philosopher Dr. Cornel West joins Charles Blow on “Prime” to discuss the parallels between Presidents Biden and Roosevelt.

All this and more on “Prime.”
