Hate Crimes Against Black People on the Rise in California

BNC’s Anser Hassan reports about the rise of hate crimes in California against Black people.

According to the California Department of Justice, hate crimes have increased by 25% in the last decade, with a 31% increase from 2019 to 2020.

Hate crimes targeting communities of color have increased overall, but Black people have fared worse, seeing an 88% increase from 2019 to 2020, compared to 43% against Asians and 38% against Latinos.
