Caledonia Police Respond After Video of Traffic Stop Goes Viral

Video of a traffic stop in Wisconsin has been shared millions of times on social media and it’s raising eyebrows.

The person in the car is Black and the police officer involved is white. Many believed the video showed the officer planting evidence, but now the police department has released its own video, which it says clears the officer of any wrongdoing. Their statement read in part, “While we would discourage officers from discarding items into a citizen’s vehicle, the video is clear that the officer is not planting evidence or doing anything illegal.” BNC correspondent Dray Clark has the details of what happened on “BNC Live” with Tashanea Whitlow. Dr. Laura McNeal, BNC’s chief legal correspondent, also joins to discuss the legal implications of the video.
