After a New Jersey woman was reportedly abducted while traveling to her job at a nursing home, police have confirmed blood and her glasses were found in the parking lot of her apartment complex.
Based on the finding of the glasss and the blood, prosecutors believe 24-year-old Shanaya Coley was hurt and then possibly kidnapped in her own vehicle on Dec 5, reported NBC New York.
Although police are unsure of who may have harmed the nurse, they did discover that she recently took out a restraining order on an unidentified person, reported International Business Times.
Coley’s father, Willie Coley, was unaware something happened in his daughter’s life to prompt her to take out a restraining order.
“I was never aware that there was anything wrong,” Willie Coley told the IBTimes. “She did her stuff and never said anything to me about it.”
Friends and family desperate for answers gathered near Coley’s apartment Friday morning after a night of handing out flyers and knocking on doors for information, NorthJersey.com reported. According to Coley’s family, her 3-year-old son had not yet been told of the situation.
However, Coley’s father does assume the 3-year-old will soon ask about his mother’s location. Willie also hopes his daughter returns before his grandson’s 4th birthday on Dec. 23.
Anyone with information is asked to call Dec. Sgt. Marco Aliano of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s office at 862-849-6019 or the Paterson Police Department’s Major Crimes Division at 973-321-1120.
